In my research, I design and evaluate theory-driven laboratory interventions to reduce children’s race and gender biases. I also examine the extent to which parents can implement different intervention strategies with the goal of producing robust, lasting changes in children’s biases. Overall, my research program adopts a cyclical approach that evaluates strategies to alter children’s intergroup biases in the laboratory, and then engages parents to implement the effective strategies in the real world. I work in both the Prejudice and Intergroup Relations Lab and the Social Kids Lab.
